i'm flying back to SF for what might be my last dental appointment ever. i started this treatment when i first landed in SF in aug 2024, so it's been a long time coming. i was told treatment would be 18 months. and that was on top of already 6 months of treatment in malaysia. so i have been looking forward to this day.
to get some work done, i went to Saluhall, which is a food hall right beside IKEA. the space is nice, but there were barely any people here. i have not tried the food, but i can foresee this place closing down just like the San Francisco Centre. the sad reality of these spaces in SF.
at night i had dinner with W at Hon's Wun Tun House. i had been craving clams since i last had them on a cold windy day in SF. below was our order:
- 酸辣汤 (Hot & Sour Soup)
- 咖喱鱼蛋(Curry FiShanghai Balls)
- 清酒煮大蚬 (Clam with sake broth)
- 凉瓜牛肉 (Beef stir fried bitter melon)
- 家乡炒米粉 (Hometown Style stir-fried vermicelli)

as a chinese-malaysian i rate this place a strong 9/10.
i stayed at FOUND hotel at Mason St. it was surprisingly nice and clean given the location.

- biomarkers are like a label on your cancer cell that tells doctors what type of cancer you have
- her2 = human epidermal growth factor receptor 2
- its a protein that sits on the surface of cancer cells like little antennas
- normal cell = few antenna
- her2+ = many antennas 100x more
- her2-low = more than normal
- her2-zero = barely any
- IHC is immunoHistoChemistry
- stains the HEr2 proteins and count them
- counts the her2 gene copies (blueprint for making her2 proteins)
