went to christian life austin, the theme was about living intentionally. we don't just fall into a good career, a good relationship, a good business. we spend time to nurture our hearts.

i learned about the prayer that Jabez prayed in 1 Chronicles 4:9.

the prayer:

  1. starts with a promise – "oh, that you would bless me"
  2. influence and ministry – "and enlarge my territory"
  3. asks for God's presence – "Let your hand be with me
  4. protection – "and keep me from harm, so i will be free from pain"

i find it hard to pray consistently — i've been falling asleep in bed before i finish my prayers. that tells a lot about how much i actually believe in the importance and power of prayer. the above is a good template to start with.

i had an idea for an app that tracks prayers so you can look back and see how many were answered, and remind yourself to pray for people — both loved ones and strangers.
